City of Parramatta Council has postponed its Winterlight event and closed a number of facilities and services in response to the latest COVID-19 outbreak across Greater Sydney.
The changes will be in effect until 11.59pm Friday July 9 in line with NSW Public Health Orders, unless otherwise advised.
“The safety of our community and staff is our top priority and we will be doing what we can as the situation evolves,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer said.
“We are closely monitoring and following the advice from NSW Health, and will respond as required. Please keep an eye on Council’s website and social media channels for further updates about our facilities and services.
“This is a very challenging time for us all, but it’s important that we take this latest threat seriously and listen to the advice of the health authorities.”
Winterlight 2021 (including The Winter Village at Prince Alfred Square) has been postponed until further notice.
All City of Parramatta libraries will be closed until further notice, including branches at Parramatta, Epping, Constitution Hill, Dundas, Ermington, Carlingford, Wentworth Point, and Newington.
Due dates for library items will be automatically extended.
Riverside Theatres will be closed until further notice.
Epping Aquatic Centre and Macarthur Girls High School Pool will be closed until further notice.
CUSTOMER CONTACT CENTRE
Council’s Customer Contact Centre at 126 Church Street, Parramatta, will be closed to the public until further notice.
PARRAMATTA HERITAGE AND VISITOR CENTRE
The Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Centre at 346A Church Street, Parramatta, will be closed to the public until further notice.
Community facilities across the City of Parramatta Local Government Area, including community halls and rooms for hire, will be closed until further notice. Parks and open spaces remain open for outdoor exercise in line with the NSW Public Health Order.
Council Meetings will be closed to the public until further notice. A livestream will still be available online. The next scheduled meeting is Monday 28 June.
