Contract extension for Greg Dyer
City of Parramatta Administrator Amanda Chadwick has announced the contract of Council’s Interim General Manager Greg Dyer has been renewed for a further three years.
Mr Dyer took up the role of Chief Executive Officer at the former Parramatta City Council in 2014 and has since overseen a major transformation of the Parramatta Local Government Area, including the proclamation of new Council boundaries in May last year.
Ms Chadwick said under Mr Dyer’s leadership Council was well prepared for the amalgamation process which has seen most of the former Parramatta LGA merge with sections of the Hills, Hornsby, Auburn and Holroyd council areas.
“This was one of the more complex local government amalgamations yet Council’s meticulous preparations ensured that the new City of Parramatta delivered quality community services and facilities to residents from the outset without interruption.
“Greg steered Council through a seamless transition period, and under his watch Parramatta is emerging as Sydney’s Central City and experiencing a once-in-a-generation increase in economic growth and investment,” Ms Chadwick said.
The Administrator commended Mr Dyer for his work in delivering City of Parramatta’s first Operational Plan for 2016/17.
“The half yearly report shows that eleven out of 12 items in the plan have been delivered on time and Council’s financial position has improved under Greg’s management,” Ms Chadwick said.
“I would also like thank Greg for his leadership of Council’s $2 billion Parramatta Square project, one of the biggest urban renewal developments in the country which is transforming our City.
“Development applications have been approved for two commercial towers on Parramatta Square and three other DAs are pending while major tenancy agreements have been signed. This aspirational project has become a reality thanks to the hard work of Greg Dyer, his leadership team and Council staff,” Ms Chadwick said.
Prior to joining Council, Mr Dyer held a number of senior financial management positions in major property and media companies including Mirvac Group and APN News and Media.
