Proposed pedestrian crossing and pedestrian refuge island in Franklin Street near Railway Street, Parramatta

The Department of Education is expanding Parramatta West Public School to increase its capacity from the 766 enrolled students in 2017 to a capacity of 966 students. As part of the school expansion works, it is proposed to install pedestrian facilities in Franklin Street at Railway Street, Parramatta as detailed below and as shown in the plans:

  • A new raised pedestrian crossing in Franklin Street south of Railway Street
  • A new pedestrian refuge island in Franklin Street north of Railway Street

Council invites written submissions from residents, businesses and relevant authorities. Submissions must be provided to Council by Wednesday, 20 January 2021.

Please include your street address and survey reference number TS 2020 94 in any response you provide.

The Parramatta Traffic Committee and Council will consider responses to these consultations prior to determining the matters.  All survey respondents will be advised of Council’s decision in February 2021.
