Proposed Pedestrian Facilities in Beecroft, Carlingford, Newington, Westmead and Winston Hills

The following pedestrian facilities are proposed to be installed in Beecroft, Carlingford, Newington, Westmead and Winston Hills to improve pedestrian safety near parks, reserves, schools, shopping centre and/or M2 bus stops:

Of these seven projects, Junction Road projects (Nos. 6 & 7) are to be delivered by The Hills Shire Council in 2021/22, subject to the availability of funding.  

For the remaining five projects (Nos. 1 to 5), funding is currently not available for construction, however Council staff are exploring funding opportunities so that these projects can be delivered in the 2022/23 financial year.  Council will write to residents and businesses again to advise if funding becomes available.

Council invites written submissions from residents, businesses and relevant authorities.  Submissions must be provided to Council by Friday, 28 January 2022.

The Parramatta Traffic Committee and Council will consider responses to this consultation prior to determining the matter. All survey respondents will be advised of Council’s decision in April 2022.
