INVITATION TO TENDER - ITT 12/2021 Charles Street Square, Parramatta - Civil, Landscape and Building Works
ABOUT THE COUNCIL:
The City of Parramatta Council is located 24 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD and provides a range of goods and services within a local government area (LGA) encompassing some 82 square kilometres and comprises a population of approximately 230,000 people from a range of diverse cultures, lifestyles and experiences
ABOUT THE TENDER:
Charles Street Square - Civil, Landscape and Building Works
Parramatta CBD river foreshore works in an area extending from the corner of Charles and Phillip Streets, Parramatta to Parramatta Quay on the Parramatta River Foreshore Reserve.
Demolition includes removal of the existing seating, pavement and associated stairs and ramps, retaining walls, and other structures. Remediation of the site. Relocation of the existing WC, removal of the existing lighting and removal, retention and relocation of existing services. Removal of some trees and retention of others.
New works will be constructed across three levels of the site; the Upper Square, the Garden Terrace and the Riverfront Promenade. New works include installation of new pavements, retaining walls, timber decking, ramps, balustrades, stairs, terraced seating constructed of precast concrete units and recycled timber, seating, lighting, drinking fountains, bike parking and public artworks. Installation of associated services including electrical, drainage and other infrastructure.
Building works include construction of a new storeroom and a bespoke shade structure and ferry kiosk.
Landscape works include retention of some existing trees, new planting of trees, shrubs and groundcovers, turf, irrigation and landscape maintenance.
The successful contractor will work within an urban space with restricted access.
Construction will be managed to maintain the existing access to adjoining properties and to minimise impact on the adjoining businesses, ferry operations and access to the foreshore reserve by the community. Being on the Parramatta River, strict environmental management will be observed.
Tenderers must have ISO Certified Systems for Work Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Management and Environmental Management to be considered for this tender.
A final decision will be made regarding this Tender in November 2021, with works anticipated to commence in December 2021. The Tender price is for a fixed lump sum.
No pre-tender meeting is proposed, however it is recommended that prospective Tenderers visit the project site to confirm 'scope of work', and if questions arise submit these via the Tenderlink forum or to tenders@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au
