International Students

Many international students will be affected by COVID-19. For more information on how Council is responding, click here.

City of Parramatta is home to a number of leading tertiary institutions and outreach campuses, and Council welcomes many international students who choose to live, study or work in the Parramatta area throughout the year.

A key priority is to ensure that international students have information about the support services that are available to them in Australia – locally and nationally.

To assist with ensuring international students have access to relevant information and services available to them, Study NSW has created an International Student Welfare Services Hub. This resource contains key information on accommodation and housing, legal advice for international students, mental health and wellbeing, emergency food assistance and more.

If English is not your first language, translated factsheets, information, videos and posters for COVID-19 are available on the NSW Health website. Information is available in a variety of community languages, including Arabic, Bahasa/Indonesian, Chinese – Simplified, Chinese – Traditional, Farsi, Italian, Khmer, Korean, Mongolian, Thai and Vietnamese.

If you require translation services call TIS on 131 450 or go to their Non-English speakers webpage.
