North-East Planning Investigation Area

In early 2021, City of Parramatta Council sought feedback on six potential draft built form options presented in the Draft Planning Strategy for the North-East Planning Investigation Area.

The North-East Planning Investigation Area is located between a proposed high rise corridor on Church Street (under the Parramatta CBD Planning Proposal) and low scale built form in the Sorrell Street Heritage Conservation Area. The area covered by the North-East Planning Investigation Area can be seen in the Map.

A description of the Planning Investigation Area and surrounding context, and the work that Council has undertaken to date, including how Council is assessing the potential built form options and next steps, are described in the Draft Planning Strategy. Appendix 1 outlines the assumptions for the modelled built form outcomes presented in the Draft Planning Strategy and Appendix 2 compares the built form options from varying viewpoints. Previous heritage studies also formed part of the documentation that was placed on public exhibition.

The public exhibition of the Draft Planning Strategy for the North-East Planning Investigation Area concluded at 5pm on Thursday 15 April 2021.

The public exhibition materials, including the Draft Planning Strategy, are all still available for public viewing via Council’s Participate Parramatta page.

July 2021 Update

Council is currently reviewing all submissions received from stakeholders and community members. A report will be prepared for consideration and endorsement by Council. The report will outline the feedback, including the preferred built-form option and any changes arising from the exhibition process to the Draft Planning Strategy.
