Edwin Ross Reserve playground celebrates its official opening

Construction for the new $200,000 playground at Edwin Ross Reserve was completed in October 2020, and City of Parramatta Council is proud to announce its official opening.

The playground was built as part of Council’s Better Neighbourood Program. Council is dedicated to providing high quality public spaces, and we are pleased that the growing Carlingford community now has access to a vibrant new playground that can be used for leisure, recreation, and exercise.

The brand new playground features:

  • a play area with a range of nature-themed play equipment;
  • multi-use sports space and cricket wicket wall,
  • an informal kick-about open space,
  • new seating, including an accessible picnic table and bench,
  • a Street Library on the corner of Keller and Rickard Street, painted by the students at Carlingford Public School,
  • tree planting to provide additional shade,
  • fencing along the road boundaries to help keep park visitors safe.

Special thanks to the students at Carlingford Public School and the local residents who helped us design the playground and ensure it incorporated the needs of our community.
