200 Years of Royal Agricultural Society - Green Thumbs, Blue Ribbons

Celebrate Parramatta’s agricultural history with our first exhibition which covers everything from the First Nations people who cared for our lands for tens of thousands of years, to the establishment of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW in Parramatta Park exactly 200 years ago.

PHIVE’s very first exhibition explores and celebrates Parramatta’s agricultural history through produce and people.

This exhibition explores and celebrates Parramatta’s agricultural history through people and the role ‘the Show’ played in recognising excellence.

The City of Parramatta acknowledges the Dharug people who are the traditional owners of the land ofParramatta. Council pays respect to elders, past, present and emerging, of the Dharug nation and extends that respect to other First Nations people visiting this exhibition in the Discovery Space.

Our welcome audio in this space is presented by Aunty Julie Jones, Dharug Custodian and Knowledge Holder. We thank Aunty Julie for her contributions to this exhibition, in conversation with Karen Maber, City of Parramatta, Keeping Place Officer and the broader community.
