Carers Support

Carers can sometimes be overwhelmed with the constancy and intensity of caring for someone who is dependent on them. Connecting with other carers may help you discover creative ways of dealing with the challenges of care giving. Carers Support provides services that includes:

  • advice and information for carers
  • educational sessions
  • seminars
  • social activities
  • individual and group support.

Carers Support receives funding through the Commonwealth Home Support Program.

You’re eligible to access Carers Support if you are over sixty five years of age and caring for an older person or someone with disability who is a spouse, partner, parent, son, daughter, relative or friend and your care allows that person to continue to live at home in the community. You or the person being cared for needs to live in the local government area.
