The Arts

Public art throughout Parramatta's streets, laneways and parks paints only a small picture of the diverse arts offering in the area. Whether you are interested in a matinee at Riverside Theatres, scoping out commissioned public art around town, dropping into the appointment gallery space at Parramatta Artists Studios, checking out a contemporary or digital performance at Connect Studios, taking a self-guided heritage art trail walk or visiting the Female Orphan School and Margaret Whitlam Galleries, there is something to intrigue all visitors and locals alike.

Parramatta Artists Studios

Parramatta Artists Studios (PAS) is the energetic home for creative production in the centre of Western Sydney. Established in 2006, we have supported hundreds of artists by providing professional workspaces, enabling creative projects and networking artists with arts influencers, local communities and peers.

From our fourteen studios, PAS artists make, connect and find inspiration in Parramatta, contributing significantly to its vibrant and quickly growing cultural sector. They also connect with the Parramatta community through our annual program of events, workshops and arts activities.

In 2019, PAS will launch a new studio facility in Rydalmere. This facility contains six warehouse-style studios with a focus on engaging artists beyond an emerging career stage and re-engaging with former PAS studio artists to contribute to career sustainability.

Subscribe to the PAS e-newsletter to receive up-to-date information about events, workshops, PAS artist news and studio application rounds.

Parramatta Artists Studios is an initiative of the City of Parramatta and is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW.
