Truck Art Competition

Past Truck Art competition winner

Calling all kids at a school or a preschool in the Parramatta local government area! The popular truck art competition is back again and we are seeking great designs from our young residents about how to solve a waste problem we face.

What is the challenge?

This year’s challenge is to teach our community how to put bins out correctly on their bin night. When bins are placed too close to a tree, power line or car, or if they are facing the wrong way, collecting them can be dangerous or impossible for the garbage truck drivers. With more than 100,000 bins to collect every week, correct bin presentation helps ensure everyone’s rubbish gets collected on time and that our drivers stay safe.

Students are asked to apply their creativity and artistic skill to either colour in the following artwork/design or create their own artwork that will bring the community’s attention to the correct way to present bins on their bin night.

  • Overall winner (1 prize winner): An Apple Ipad 9.7 32GB (valued at $648), and their artwork will be displayed on the side of a garbage truck

  • Winner from each year (6 prize winners): Family zoo tickets (2 adults and 2 children)

  • Class teacher of the overall winner (1 prize winner): $120 Visa card
  • Class teacher with largest number of entries (1 prize winner): $120 Visa card
