Lord Mayor’s Message 30 April 2020
Lord Mayor’s Message 30 April
On behalf of the City of Parramatta, I would like to extend my best wishes for the holy month of Ramadan to our local Muslim community.
I know that families and friends traditionally come together for this time of fasting, reflection and prayer. However, it is important for the safety of our community that people continue to stick to the social distancing rules outlined by our state and federal governments. The City of Parramatta appreciates your patience and support as we navigate these unprecedented circumstances together.
I wish everyone a blessed, peaceful and safe Ramadan.
Small Business COVID-19 Response Grants

The City of Parramatta is dedicated to supporting local business owners during this difficult time and is offering grants of up to $2,000 for businesses who need to modify their operating model to continue to generate revenue. A funding pool of $100,000 will help businesses to adapt and diversify, and to continue trading during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NSW Government’s $395 million Local Government stimulus package
City of Parramatta Council was pleased to welcome financial support from the NSW Government with the announcement of their $395 million Local Government stimulus package. Funding from this package will help us continue to provide essential services, kick-start community infrastructure, and keep Council staff employed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Council has forecasted revenue losses between $20 million and$40 million over the next year, and we will require further financial support over the coming months to continue operating, keep staff in jobs, and progress ‘shovel ready’ projects to stimulate the local economy.
