Lord Mayor's Message 4 September
Creative Economy Grants
I am excited to announce our $150,000 Creative Economy Grants Program to support local cultural and creative enterprises. This program is part of a larger $785,000 package of measures to help recharge the City’s $1 billion creative economy, which has been hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cultural and creative enterprises are the heart of our City and we are doing all we can to support them during this difficult time.
Our Creative Economy Grants Program is an investment in our City’s recovery, helping creative business and organisations to get back on their feet and continue to offer the community valuable cultural experiences. I encourage eligible organisations in fields including the arts, design, publishing, screen, sound and heritage to apply by Sunday 20 September.

New commuter carparks in North Rocks and Winston Hills
I am pleased to see the NSW Government Commuter Car Park program is progressing. The program to increase the number of commuter car-parking spaces around some public transport hubs will see new commuter car parks at North Rocks and Winston Hills.
Council has been liaising with Transport for NSW in the planning stage of this project to achieve the best outcome for both commuter car park locations. I would like to acknowledge The Hills Shire Council for their role in supporting the delivery of the Winston Hills commuter carpark for the City of Parramatta community.
We welcome the NSW Government’s investment in the City of Parramatta and look forward to the completion of the new commuter car parks, currently scheduled for the end of June 2021.
As our City grows rapidly, the new commuter car parks will make it easier for residents who need to drive part of the way to work, study or play.Photo: New commuter carparks at Winston Hills (pictured) and North Rocks will improve access to transport hubs for Parramatta residents.
Riverside Theatres Digital presents Odette
Riverside Theatres Digital is still going strong – live-streaming high-quality theatre and music performances into homes across Australia. On Sunday 6 September, I encourage everyone to tune into Odette: Live at Riverside for a spellbinding live performance by Sydney-based singer-songwriter and ARIA award nominee Odette.
Riverside Theatres is committed to making live theatre available to as many people as possible. Odette’s digital concert has a ‘Choose what you pay’ ticketing option with a minimum ticket price of $18. Ticket prices help to support performers and theatre workers.
