PHIVE PRESENTS: Learning Dharug Ways

Join a Dharug custodian and immerse yourself in an hour activity hearing about Indigenous customs, food, tools and much, much more. 

Aunty Leanne has a close connection with Parramatta and will give you insights into Dharug culture. The name Parramatta derives from the Dharug Burramada, burra meaning eel, where the supply of eels were found in the waters of the Parramatta River.

Important Information:

This is a one hour free activity, registrations are required.  We allow walk ins on the day, however, we would prefer for you to register.

This activity is open to ages 7 years and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the activity.

Please note that due to unavailability the Cultural facilitators can change on any given date.

This activity is in high demand. Please ensure that you show on the day of the tour and consider others in case you are unable to attend.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to commencement of the activity for a 10:00 am start.

PHIVE sits on the lands and waters of the Burramattagal of the Dharug nation and we acknowledge Burramatta as a significant place of ceremony, story and tradition. We pay our respects to Dharug Ancestors and Elders, past, present and future and extend our respect to all First Nations people joining this program and visiting PHIVE.

About Aunty Leanne:

Aunty Leanne King, a proud Dharug woman and founder of Wollombi Aboriginal Cultural Experiences, has been learning Wollombi cultural lore for over 30 years. Aunty Leanne believes that the stories she shares have resonance in today’s world, and that helping people connect with Country can be deeply nurturing. Aunty Leanne’s message is of empowering inclusion; how everyone, of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs can grow up within Culture.
