Total Fire Bans & Barbeques (BBQs)

Occasionally total fire bans come into effect.

For up to date information on current fire bans visit the NSW Rural Fire Service website  
During a fire ban, ensure you are aware and follow the rules regarding the use of BBQs  

  • No fire is permitted in the open (this includes individuals who have a fire permit) 
  • Solid fuel fires such as charcoal and wood barbeques are not permitted
  • Gas or electric barbeques are permitted in designated picnic areas where
  • The appliance meets approved safety standards as defined by City of Parramatta Council, National Parks & Wildlife Service or State forests 
  • The operation of appliances is directly monitored by an adult
  • A two (2) metre ground radius around the appliance is cleared of all ground fuels
  • There is nearby and sustainable source of water
