Domestic and International visitors to Parramatta are increasing.
The City of Parramatta has been focussed on making Parramatta the major sporting venue for Western Sydney.
Since 2011, there has been a 200% increase in patronage at Pirtek Stadium sporting events, with 2015 welcoming 303,836 total attendees at a total of 32 events. (an increase from 97,406 attendees and 12 events in 2011).
This growth trajectory is set to continue into the future, with the recent confirmation of the new $350 million Western Sydney Stadium to be constructed in Parramatta commencing in 2016.

The City of Parramatta has been working with partners and developing regional facilities.
In 2014/15 our Artist Studios hosted 29 studio artists including 20 local and Western Sydney based artists and nine artists from metropolitan Sydney.
The artists Studios also delivered 12 artist residencies, including five international artists, four interstate artists and three artists from Regional NSW. This means that the City of Parramatta is committed to providing opportunities for cultural expression for all members of the community.
One of our resident artists was awarded the prestigious scholarship ‘Eva Breuer Travelling Art Scholarship’ by the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The Scholarship provides the winning artist, a female under the age of 35 years, with a $25,000 stipend for travel and living expenses associated with their residency scholarship.
The Riverside Theatres are integral to Parramatta’s cultural identity and vibrancy. Over the past four years, Parramatta’s reputation as a dynamic and creative regional city has grown.
This is an opportunity to encourage existing and new visitors to Parramatta and to support Parramatta’s existing reputation as a vibrant hub of entertainment and opportunity.
