Truck Art Competition 2023

The challenge for 2023 was to educate and empower our community to combat littering and create a more sustainable and beautiful environment through clean-up activities and litter prevention campaigns.

Littering has detrimental effects on the environment and society. It degrades natural spaces, pollutes soil and water, and poses health and safety risks.

Students were asked to apply their creativity and artistic skill to either colour in the artwork/design overleaf or create their own artwork that will bring the community’s attention about the negative impacts of littering.

Truck Art Competition Winner

City of Parramatta’s Waste and Cleansing team, together with our waste contractor, Veolia, announced the winner of the 2023 Truck Art Competition for local primary schools on 30 November 2023.  The theme for the artwork was to educate and empower our community to combat littering and create a more sustainable and beautiful environment through clean-up activities and litter prevention campaigns.

Twelve primary schools entered from within the LGA with over 600 student entries. City of Parramatta and Veolia had a tough time picking a winner with so many brilliant entries. A winner from each year was awarded as well as 3 Highly Commended entries, in addition to the overall winner.

The overall winning student was from Parramatta Public School with their artwork now proudly doing the recycling rounds on our streets.
