Every year PAS welcomes communities to Open Day. Showcasing where art is made, Open Day gives visitors a chance to see studio artists working in situ, participate in creative workshops and enjoy family-friendly demonstrations.
Community members of all ages can expect tours, talks, hands-on art workshops, cultural learning opportunities and surprise freebies through the day. Past iterations have included a pickling workshop by Marian Abboud, free tarot reading from Audrey Newton, a weaving circle from First Nations artists and an exploration of swear signs in AUSLAN from Deaf artist Sofya Gollan.
Open Day is a one-day program that attracts hundreds of visitors every year. Visitors enjoy free food, a bespoke Quiet Area made by an artist and a generous itinerary of accessible experiences.
