Movers and Makers

Movers and Makers is a free annual symposium of critical discussion and networking opportunities for artists aimed at cultivating industry accessibility and career sustainability. The program was established in 2015 in response to a gap in artist-focused professional development opportunities. Since then, it has become PAS' signature public program, developed in collaboration with artists, curators and the Western Sydney arts community.

Movers and Makers responds directly to the current ecology of the arts, addressing social and political complexities and presenting ways of sustaining creative practice on a local and global scale. These conversations inform a dynamic program of guest speakers, panel discussions, performances and participatory activities that support artists and arts workers at all stages of their careers.
