Everyone is welcome at Parramatta Artists Studios. We want you to know that you are welcome to be your authentic self here, without judgement. If there is anything we can do to make your experience more comfortable, accessible or culturally safe, we encourage you to let us know.
PAS is committed to creating inclusive, culturally safe and accessible creative environments that reflect the diverse communities of Western Sydney. We embed access and inclusion across our programs, facilities and artist support, recognising accessibility as an essential part of creative practice rather than an add-on.
Visual Stories
PAS has developed Visual Stories with Morwenna Collett for our Granville and Rydalmere studios, Artist-in-Residence apartment to support people in understanding what to expect before they arrive as an audience member or a studio artist. These resources provide clear, accessible information about our sites, facilities and environments.
Visual Stories form part of our broader commitment to reducing barriers to participation and creating welcoming experiences for artists, audiences and community members with diverse access needs.
Access at Events and Programs
PAS works to make events and programs accessible, welcoming and responsive to the needs of participants. Depending on the program, this may include accessible information, plain language resources, Auslan interpretation, quiet spaces, flexible participation options and access supports developed in consultation with artists, audiences and specialist partners. PAS is also a Sunflower-friendly organisation, supporting people with hidden disabilities.
Our approach is shaped by ongoing collaboration with d/Deaf and Disabled artists, accessibility specialists and community members. Through continual review and feedback, we aim to ensure access and inclusion remain embedded across all PAS programs, facilities and public events.
