Ahmed Abunada

Ahmed Abunada’s artistic practice is rooted in the contemplation of memory, identity, and displacement, drawing from both personal and collective experiences. His work blends realism and impressionism and spans a range of media including classical oil painting, charcoal, comics, and digital art.

He is particularly inspired by portraiture and gravitates toward the silent details that are often overlooked in dominant narratives. For him, art serves as a space for reflection and confrontation a form of testimony and a means of healing. In moments of fracture, Abunada sees art as a vital tool for survival and for preserving what remains of memory. He is currently developing a series of oil paintings as part of his ongoing project titled Displacement, which explores the traces of personal experience through an intimate and testimonial visual language.
