Visiting Curators Program

Our studio visit program for current residents

The Visiting Curator Program connects PAS studio artists with curators, programmers, and arts leaders and professionals from across Australia and around the world. Through one-on-one studio visits and critical dialogue, the program creates opportunities for artists to share their work, receive feedback and build meaningful professional relationships. 

Designed to support artistic development and long-term career pathways, the program brings a diverse range of local, regional, interstate and international perspectives into direct conversation with artists. Each visit also includes a presentation by the visiting curator or organisation, providing artists with insight into their work, programs and areas of practice. This reciprocal exchange creates opportunities for connection, learning and professional development on both sides. 

Over the years, the program has led to exhibitions, commissions, residencies and enduring professional relationships between artists and visiting arts workers. Many of these connections continue well beyond the initial studio visit, creating new opportunities for collaboration, presentation and exchange across local, national and international contexts. 

By fostering ongoing relationships between artists and arts leaders, the Visiting Curator Program strengthens connections between Western Sydney and the broader contemporary arts sector. Throughout the year, PAS welcomes curators and arts professionals into the studios, creating dedicated opportunities for artists to engage with the people shaping contemporary art practice across diverse contexts.
