Squads

The PAC Squads program is a great way for swimmers to continue improving and reach their full potential in the pool. Running year-round, the program helps swimmers refine their skills while having fun. Our team of qualified coaches delivers specialised programs and works with each swimmer to achieve their goals.

See below for a breakdown of the different levels within our squad program. Each level has its own set of skill requirements and recommended number of sessions per week.
Squad Levels
Stingrays (Bronze)
The first level of the competitive program. Students work mainly on perfecting freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke by strengthening the basic elements of swimming (breathing, body position and technique) and building the ability to swim longer distances through improved technique. This level provides a strong foundation for progressing to higher squad levels.

- 50 metres freestyle/crawl
- 50 metres backstroke
- 50 metres breaststroke

Sharks (Silver)
Students focus on learning and perfecting butterfly, while the other strokes are further refined through more specialised training and increased swimming distances. Upon completion of this level, swimmers will be able to confidently swim all four strokes over medium to long distances, providing a strong foundation for competitive swimming.

Thunderbolts (Gold)
Students are able to swim all four strokes over medium to long distances with advanced technique. The aim of this level is to support the transition to competitive swimming. Swimmers learn all aspects of the sport, including starts, turns, relays and competition rules, while continuing to refine their stroke technique. The Gold squad program also focuses on developing teamwork and an understanding of competitive swimming through participation in regional and national events.
