Active Parramatta Van
About the service
The Active Parramatta Van is a free service operated by Council.
Its aim is to make the City of Parramatta a more active, healthy and connected city through the delivery of free community fitness programs that promote healthy lifestyles across a range of user groups, including:
- Mothers and their children (Mums N Bubs program)
- Primary school-aged children
- Youth
- Adults
- Over 55s (Better Ageing program)
Objectives
The objectives of the Active Parramatta Van include:
- Increasing awareness of the benefits of healthy and active lifestyles
- Increasing participation to improve the community’s health and well-being Improving community cohesion and connectedness through active participation and social inclusion
- Providing access to literacy, educational and recreation programs to connect residents with their local communities and services
- Increasing the presence of partner organisations to deliver community-based, health and well-being outcomes
