Charles Herbert Reserve

A portion of the reserve closest to the cliff face at Charles Herbert Reserve remains closed to the public. After years of exposure, this sandstone face has begun to destabilise and there is a risk of parts of this cliff face falling onto the reserve below. The fence serves to restrict access to the impact zone of any falling debris here in the interest of public safety.

Council engaged a Geotechnical Engineer who has provided advice and a scope of works to stabilise this cliff face. A proposed budget was also put forward for the 25-26 FY to deliver this work which has been approved. Once a firm timeframe is available, we will update the information on this page, however we anticipate works to be completed well within the 2025-26 Financial Year (July 2025-June 2026) circumstances permitting.

Until these works are completed for your safety, please ensure you stay outside of the fenced area within the reserve.
