Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) communities are equally valued and welcomed in the Parramatta local government area (LGA). In support of thriving and resilient communities, Council works with local partners to improve community inclusion and reduce discrimination for all.

Mental Health Services
Headspace
Headspace provides mental health support, services and information to young people aged 12-25, as well as families and friends. A formal appointment is required for mental health support at Headspace Parramatta. Headspace Parramatta have availability for in-person intake sessions.

High Street Youth Health Service
High Street Youth Health Service offer counselling services to young people aged 12-24, focusing on preventing harm and injury, physical health and nutrition, mental health, sexual health and alcohol or other drug use, including tobacco. They accept self-referrals and assisted referrals through parents, family members, GPs, teachers, counsellors and other service providers.

Western Sydney Sexual Health Centre
Western Sydney Sexual Health Centre (Parramatta Clinic) offers testing, support, treatment and management of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Services are free and confidential. No Medicare card is required, and telephone interpreter services are available, if needed.

Rainbow Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence Helpline
The helpline is for anyone in Australia who is from LGBTQIA+ communities who has recently or in the past experienced sexual, domestic or family violence. The helpline also provides support for family members, friends and supporters of someone from LGBTQIA+ communities who are also impacted by violence.

QLife
QLife provides 24/7 Australia-wide anonymous and free LGBTQIA+ peer support and referral for people wanting to talk about sexuality, gender, bodies, feelings or relationships. QLife phone and webchat are open from 3pm to midnight every day.

The directory(PDF, 507KB) provides information about services located within Western Sydney who have demonstrated that they are inclusive of Multicultural LGBTQIA+ people.
Parramatta Queer Forum
The Parramatta Queer Forum (PQF) organises and holds the annual Parramatta Pride Picnic - the largest LGBTQIA+ pride picnic in Western Sydney, held in October every year. PQF meet once every two months with local residents and service providers to help build capacity, visibility and events for queer people in Western Sydney.

Rainbow Cultures is an online directory of LGBTQIA+ multicultural community groups and services in Western Sydney, and more broadly in NSW and Australia. The directory includes multicultural and multilingual LGBTQIA+ organisations, groups and services that welcome LGBTQIA+ people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
#StrongSafeFabulous
#StrongSafeFabulous is an initiative to support the prevention of domestic and family violence, and child abuse in LGBTQIA+ families. The website is informed by Our Watch's Change the Story, the Australian national prevention of violence against women framework, and Rainbow Health Victoria's Pride in Prevention.

ACON Pride Training
ACON Pride Training is a program providing specialised LGBTQIA+ awareness and inclusivity training, with a range of learning options to deliver inclusive and affirming services to gender diverse communities.
Rainbow Tick
The Rainbow Tick is a framework that helps health and human services organisations show that they are safe, inclusive and affirming services and employers for the LGBTQIA+ community. Accreditation is provided through independent assessment, provided by Quality Innovation Performance and Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.
Coming In
Coming In is a one-day workshop focusing on building understanding of specific issues faced by people with asylum seeker and refugee background who are LGBTQIA+, including strengths, vulnerabilities and the risks experienced in their home countries, during the journey and resettling in Australia.

Promoting Inclusive Healthcare Training
This training program is for health care providers. It is a learning resource that comprises a suite of four videos that addresses improving healthcare outcomes for LGBTQIA+ people by enhancing their experiences when engaging with the NSW public healthcare system.
This module is designed for all NSW Health Staff and may qualify for up to 0.5 hour of Continuous Professional Development.

Prism LGBTQIA+ Inclusivity Trainings are practical training workshops offered to both organisations and individuals to help you build confidence in working affirmatively with people of diverse genders, diverse sexualities and/or intersex status. Prism offers training to organisations, schools and aged care.
Working Effectively with LGBTQIA+ People from Faith Backgrounds
Ambassadors & Bridge Builders International provides an insider and in-depth view into the complexities, conflicts and challenges for LGBTQIA+ people from faith backgrounds. Understanding the LGBTQIA+ faith person’s worldview and beliefs systems as well as the unique personal and psychological obstacles they face, equips community workers and service providers to work more effectively with clients.
