Compostable Liners

Compostable Logo for bin liners

Council will provide residents with a FOGO 'starter pack' including one FOGO kitchen caddy and two packs of liners. Every six months you will receive one pack of liner, and you can collect extra kitchen caddy liners throughout the year from any City of Parramatta library.

If you buy or use other caddy liners, make sure they meet Australian Standard AS4736 (with the seedling logo). This logo ensures the liners will compost and therefore not contaminate the food recycling process.

We recommend picking up compostable liner packs as and when needed as the liners can degrade when stored for long periods of time. Compostable liners should be stored in a cool, dry place.

Compostable Liners: How-to

How to use your Caddy Liners responsibly

  • 1-2 liners per week - Using just 1-2 liners weekly helps your supply last.
  • Only for FOGO waste - These liners are for food and green waste only – avoid using them for general rubbish.
  • Take extra only when needed - Collecting liners early reduces availability for others. Let’s work together to keep FOGO running smoothly.
