Following detailed planning to address complex issues, the 18-month program to build a new footbridge in the City’s popular Upjohn Park, Rydalmere, is now complete.
The 12.5m steel bridge replaces a 7m timber bridge. The footbridge is also higher and constructed to be flood resilient.
The new bridge meets Australian Standards and is designed to have a life of 100-years. It provides the community with safe, easy-access to the park, playground, BBQ areas, and other attractions.
The new Upjohn Park footbridge also allows children to travel through the park on their way to school, enjoying a shorter and more-pleasant journey.
Upjohn Park is a large park located in Rydalmere. It boasts a cricket oval and an abundance of open space to explore.
Other features at Upjohn Park include barbecue and picnic facilities, cricket nets, outdoor exercise equipment and a playspace with swings, seesaw, climbing equipment, monkey bars, and novelty equipment.
