Parra Pets

Applications for City of Parramatta Council's 2023 Desexing Program have now CLOSED.

Please check back in May 2024 for updates on our next program.

Your pet relies on you to provide care, food, water, shelter, routine veterinary checkups, training and exercise.

It is imperative, and required by law, that you also microchip and lifetime register your pet. This ensures your pet has the best chance of being returned if it is lost.

Free Parra Pets services

Council offers some free services to give your pet the best chance of being returned to you if it is lost.

It is also free to update your pet's microchip information.

Parra Pets Matta Facebook Group

The Parra Pets Matta Facebook Group is your community hub for all things pets. This group was set up to help reunite pet owners with their lost pets and share useful advice about the latest news in animal legislation in NSW, responsible pet ownership, and general pet advice.

Keeping Cats Safe at Home

The streets are a dangerous place for cats. Cats who roam are at risk of being hit by cars, attacked by dogs and other cats, becoming lost, and contracting infectious diseases. A cat kept safe at home will live on average 10 years longer than a cat who roams.

Cats can have happy and safe lives at home. Get the most out of your relationship with your cat by learning about what they need and how they communicate.

The City of Parramatta has partnered with the RSPCA to support the Keeping Cats Safe at Home project. This project has been assisted by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust.
