Changes to parking restrictions near Carlingford West Education Precinct

Installation of ‘No Stopping’ restriction and review of parking signage on local streets in the vicinity of Karingal Avenue, Baker Street, Blenheim Road and Dunmore Avenue, Carlingford 

As a result of safety concerns Council has reviewed signage and parking restrictions in the vicinity of Carlingford West Public School, James Ruse Agricultural High School and Cumberland High School.

To ensure input from key transport authorities, this matter was considered by members of the Parramatta Traffic Committee, which includes representatives from the Police, Transport for NSW (TfNSW), Public Transport providers and City of Parramatta’s Traffic & Transport Services Unit.

As a result of the Committee members’ deliberation, it was resolved:

Karingal Avenue, Baker Street, Blenheim Road, Carlingford (Ref. DI 327 18):

1. That ‘No Stopping’ restrictions be installed on the west side of Baker Street immediately north and south of Blenheim Road, Carlingford as shown in the attached sketch.
2. That the existing ‘No Stopping’ restriction on the north side of Blenheim Road at Baker Street, Carlingford be extended west immediately after the driveway of 12 Baker Street as shown in the attached sketch.
3. That the existing ‘No Stopping’ restriction on the west side of Karingal Avenue, Carlingford be extended west by 9m as shown in the attached sketch.
4. That the length of the existing ‘No Stopping’ restriction located on the east side of Karingal Avenue north of Felton Road, Carlingford be extended north by 8m within the existing ‘No Stopping 8:30am -9:30am, 3pm-4pm School Days’ restriction as shown in the attached sketch.
5. That the existing part time ‘No Stopping 8:30am-9:30am, 3pm -4pm School Days’ restriction on the east side of Karingal Avenue between Felton Road and Niangla Place be replaced with a part time ‘No Stopping 8:00am -9:30am, 2:30pm - 4:00pm School Days’ restriction as shown in the attached sketch.

Dunmore Avenue, Carlingford (Ref. DI 327 21):

1. That 20m long ‘No Stopping’ restrictions be installed on the north and south sides of Dunmore Avenue immediately west of Baker Street, Carlingford as shown in the attached sketch.

Arrangements have been made to install the signs prior to school resuming in Term 1, 2024.

Purpose:

The purpose of the review and changes is to assist traffic flow in the vicinity of Carlingford West Public School, James Ruse High School and Cumberland High School.

It is anticipated that the signs prior to school resuming at the start of Term 1, 2024.

Remember, road rules are in place to protect all road users including pedestrians, and all motorists are expected to always follow the road rules.
