High Density Living Study

Details Of The Study

Western Sydney Local Health District Centre for Population Health and City of Parramatta Council are doing a study to find out what parents think about living in an apartment with their children and how this impacts children’s health and development.

There is not a lot of Australian research on this topic and you can help us understand if there are any health or development issues for children living in apartments. It will also help City of Parramatta Council to understand and plan for the needs of children and families living in apartments.

Who can participate?

Parents who live in an apartment in Parramatta Local Government Area (LGA), with children aged 0-5.

What will you need to do?

If you join this study, you will have an interview or join a focus group. The interview will take place where you got the information about the study or on the phone. You will be asked questions about what it is like for your family living in an apartment and what helps or makes it hard to live well.

What happens with my information?

All information will stay private. There will be no way of identifying individuals in the final report.

When will the study happen?

We would like to do the interviews during August 2019 - January 2020.

What is the cost?

The study is free. We will just take 1 hour of your time for an interview.

How can I get involved?

Please contact the study investigators Melissa Mason and Natalie Virgona on 02 9840 3603 or email melissa.mason@health.nsw.gov.au or natalie.virgona@health.nsw.gov.au.
