‘PARRAdise’ coming to the Square for Parra Play in the City

Parramatta Square is set to transform into ‘PARRAdise’ as the heart of the City turns blue and gold for a free Parramatta Eels Parra Play in the City during the winter school holidays.

Everyone is invited for a free family-friendly event with NRLW Eels players, action-packed drill stations, face painting, creative colouring corners and colourful hair braiding on Wednesday 16 July from 10am to 1pm.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the event is part of Council’s partnership with the Eels, which is proving to deliver fantastic value through free sporting clinics for young people, the Rising Women of Western Sydney scholarship, branding and events bringing visitors into the city.

“We have an ambition to cement Parramatta’s position as the home of sport and entertainment, bring more events like this to our City and create opportunities to grow our economy while celebrating the blue and gold spirit,” Cr Zaiter said.

“Whether you’re a footy fan or not, this is a chance for everyone to get a taste of ‘PARRAdise’ and everything our City has to offer – bring your family and friends down to test your footy skills, get creative, meet some NRLW players and explore the Parramatta CBD.”

“The event is happening on a Farmers’ Market Day, so a great day out during the school holidays to entertain the kids while enjoying the market stalls and other activities Council puts on like table tennis and chess.”

Parramatta Eels chief executive officer, Jim Sarantino said it’s about bringing the community together to connect and celebrate the blue and gold spirit.

“We’re thrilled to bring the blue and gold spirit to the heart of Parramatta these school holidays. Parra Play in the City is about more than just rugby league — it’s about connecting with our community, inspiring the next generation, and celebrating the passion and pride that make our club and our city special.

“We look forward to seeing families come together for a fun-filled day of sport, creativity and connection.”
