Asbestos

More than a third of Australian homes contain asbestos which is most commonly found in fibro building products. It was so widely used that if your house was built or renovated before 1987 it is likely to contain some asbestos -- most likely asbestos cement sheeting.

Asbestos and all products containing asbestos were banned throughout Australia in 2003.
