Solar Panels carport may be considered exempt development if it meets Part 3 Division 4 of the SEPP (Infrastructure) 2007.

If your development doesn’t meet exempt requirements, it will require a DA, which can be lodged through the NSW Planning Portal.
Currently, solar batteries require a Development Application.
