Total fire bans and barbeques

Occasionally total fire bans come into effect.

During a fire ban

During a fire ban make sure you know the rules:

• no fire is permitted in the open (this includes individuals who have a fire permit) 
• solid fuel fires such as charcoal and wood BBQs are not permitted
• gas or electric BBQs are permitted in designated picnic areas where
• the appliance meets approved safety standards as defined by City of Parramatta Council, National Parks & Wildlife Service or state forests 
• the operation of appliances is directly monitored by an adult
• a two (2) metre ground radius around the appliance is cleared of all ground fuels
• there is nearby and sustainable source of water
