All face-to-face group and individual activities are on hold presently. Urgent home visits and the Meals on Wheels program are continuing with all staff and volunteers following advice provided by the NSW Government in relation to hygiene measures and social distancing.
Over 55s leisure and learning and Active Parramatta are providing online and over-the-phone programming, which will continue into the near future.
City of Parramatta's over 55s leisure and learning service provides an extensive range of educational, physical, recreational and social activities throughout the year for people over 55 years of age; from Tai Chi to pilates and knitting to painting, there's something for everyone to enjoy whilst making new friends in a fun and lively environment.
Trained volunteers assist our staff with day to day operations and also run a number of activities offered. Volunteer roles include reception, tutoring, group activity assistance and proving community information.

From July 2019, activities will be run on a term based model with bookings and payments being made prior to the beginning of each term.
Participants are required to fill in a registration form so they can attend any of the activities offered at various locations.
Types of activities include:
- term based
- bus outings (currently suspended)
- free social activities
- walking groups
- and more
Fees are reviewed annually for City of Parramatta's schedule of fees and charges (section 6.2, pages 14-15) and are based on your Pension and Commonwealth Health Care Card status.

In response to the current circumstances presented by COVID-19, many events have been cancelled or postponed. City of Parramatta puts the safety of residents and visitors first. This decision has been made in the interest of public safety and in line with the advice provided by State and Federal authorities.
