2019 Parramatta Wharf upgrade

Parramatta Wharf has been upgraded and reopened on Friday 11 October 2019.

The wharf upgrade is part of the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program – an initiative to deliver modern, safe and accessible transport infrastructure across the state. The upgrade to Parramatta Wharf will help improve safety, accessibility and comfort for customers and make boarding and disembarking quicker and easier.

F3 Parramatta River ferry services resumed from 6:24am on Friday 11 October from Parramatta Wharf. The temporary bus service, route 60F3, to Rydalmere Wharf will no longer operate. For timetable and service information, visit the Transport for NSW website or call Transport Info on 131 500.

For more information about the wharf upgrade, visit the Roads and Maritime Services website.

2017 Charles Street Square Strategy

The Charles Street Square Strategy advances the vision set out in the Parramatta City River Strategy 2015 with a plan to guide future design and development of Parramatta Quay.

It establishes an aspiration for a distinct public place that connects the Ferry Wharf with the CBD, providing a point of orientation, a site of arrival and departure, spaces for meetings and events, and a place of movement between the City and River that is equitable and legible for all visitors.

2015 Parramatta City River Strategy

The Parramatta City River Strategy is a plan for revitalising the foreshore of the Parramatta River between Gasworks Bridge and Rings Bridge, O’Connell Street.

It aims to improve connections between the river and the city and create more recreational opportunities for city residents, workers and visitors. This includes better spaces for walking, cycling and for hosting major city events by the river such as New Year’s Eve and Loy Krathong. The strategy creates a new vision for the area and reclaims the river and its foreshore as a vibrant public space for the city and its people.
