The City of Parramatta is pleased to announce the recent upgrades to John Wearn Reserve are now complete and officially open.
To celebrate, Council is hosting a movie night at John Wearn Reserve, with a special screening of The Lion King (2019) from 6pm.
When: Saturday, 17 April, 4:30pm - 8:15pm
Tickets are $5 plus booking fee per person. Each ticket purchase includes a sausage sizzle, a drink and popcorn to enjoy on the night.
There will also be live music performances by live music performance by Azura Duo from 4.30pm.
Additional purchases can be made from our coffee cart and ice cream truck.
There will be limited seating at the event, so we encourage you to bring along a chair or picnic rug.
All registered ticket holders present on the night will also go into the draw to win one of three $50 AT Parramatta Gift Cards, which will be drawn by our City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer, and North Rocks Ward Councillor Andrew Jefferies.
The $5.2 million upgrades at John Wearn Reserve include a new:
- safari-themed playground;
- toilet amenities;
- car park;
- barbecue facilities and picnic shelters;
- skate park;
- dog park; and
- a stage with ampitheatre seating.
City of Parramatta is committed to upgrading public spaces such as John Wearn Reserve to ensure that our growing local community has access to first class facilities close to home.
Council has underwent extensive consultation to ensure the upgrades met our diverse community’s current and future needs.
These major renovations were completed as part of the City of Parramatta’s North Rocks Park Precinct Masterplan and were co-funded by Council and a NSW Government Stronger Communities Fund grant.
