Parramatta’s CBD has come alive with more than 200,000 people filling the streets to sample the best eats, beats and arts from Western Sydney and beyond at Parramatta Lanes.

The community is invited to have their say on how they want to be engaged by Council on initiatives that matter to them, with the Draft Community Engagement Strategy (2024 – 2028) now on public exhibition.

Parramatta’s local swimming hole will officially open in time for the swimming season with the $1.4 million transformation of Lake Parramatta complete.

Horse cart rides, heritage tours, historic talks, a petting zoo, traditional trade demonstrations, and live music will fill the historic Parramatta North cultural precinct in celebration of Foundation Day next month.

The project is set to deliver 2.8 kilometres of upgraded pathways along the Parramatta River across five locations in Parramatta, Rydalmere and Ermington.

The Eastern Parramatta River project brings together a program of pedestrian and cyclist amenity and safety improvements along the Parramatta River foreshore paths east of the CBD. Some concept designs also feature, new lighting, native tree planting, native garden beds and seating.

Parramatta Aquatic Centre (PAC) has scooped up three awards at the 2024 Aquatic and Recreation Institute (ARI) NSW Awards of Excellence.

City of Parramatta Council tonight elected Councillor Martin Zaiter as its new Lord Mayor. Councillor Zaiter, who represents the Parramatta Ward and has previously served four years on Council, said he is looking forward to leading Parramatta as it embarks on its continued transformation.
