Paving works to start in Centenary Square

You’ll start to see even more activity around Centenary Square in the coming weeks as Walker Corporation progresses the installation of paving as part of archaeological and essential services work on the 8 Parramatta Square site.

What’s going on?

Between Monday, 17 July and Friday, 7 August, essential paving works will be carried out to ensure uninterrupted pedestrian access in Centenary Square.

Activity will include:

Turf removal – Turf outside St John’s Cathedral will be removed and replaced with paving

Paving replacement – Existing pavers outside Queensland Arcade will be replaced to ensure a consistent surface for pedestrians in Centenary Square

What does this mean for you?

  • You will notice that work areas will be fenced off for safety, but pedestrian access through Centenary Square will be retained.
  • Vehicular access to Queensland Arcade will be temporarily closed between 9pm and 5am on Monday July 31.
  • Pay phones will remain available during this time.
