The Future of Sturt Park and Acacia Park

Council is upgrading Sturt and Acacia parks in Telopea.

The proposed improvements will provide the community with continued access to quality recreation spaces and areas for relaxation in open green spaces. Proposed upgrades include improved lighting, playground replacements, new pathways, benches and tables, and upgrades to the skate park, courts, and amenities building in Sturt Park.

From April through to June 2019, Council invited the community to share what they love about these local open spaces, and what they would like these parks to look and feel like in the future. Community input will help to inform concept designs for Sturt Park and Acacia Park. Thank you to everyone who contributed their thoughts.

The community expressed that safety and security are key concerns and would like to see better facilities available, including upgrades to the toilets and improvements to the playground.

The community will be invited to provide feedback on the concept designs once they are complete, which we anticipate will be in October 2019.
