Installation of ‘No Stopping’ signage in Darcy Road, Wentworthville
Due to reports of continued illegal parking, the following proposal has been reviewed and approved through the Parramatta Traffic Committee (PTC) which includes representatives from the Police, Transport for NSW (TfNSW), Public Transport providers and City of Parramatta’s Traffic & Transport Services Unit.
- That 10m long statutory ‘No Stopping’ restriction be installed on the south side of Darcy Road immediately east and west of Pioneer Street, Wentworthville as shown in the attached sketch.
Purpose:
Council generally does not install restrictions to reinstate the law. However, as this location is close to Darcy Road Public School and illegal parking is occurring during busy drop-off and pick-up times, it is considered appropriate to signpost the restriction to improve road safety near school.
It is anticipated that signs will be installed prior to school resuming Term 1, 2024.
Remember, road rules are in place to protect all road users including pedestrians, and all motorists are expected to always follow the road rules.
