City of Parramatta Council has developed its inaugural Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP).

The DIAP outlines the practical steps we will take over the next four years to create a more inclusive community for people with disability who are living in the Parramatta local government area.

The DIAP consultation process included people with disability, carers, local service providers, peak organisations, our advisory committee and with the dedicated staff of our council.

The actions set out in the plan focus on four key areas nominated by people with disability as being of primary importance to them in creating an inclusive community:

  • Developing positive community attitudes and behaviours
  • Creating liveable communities
  • Supporting access to meaningful employment
  • Improving access to services through better systems and processes.

The Plan is now available below in PDF, Word and Easy English. A summary of the feedback that we received from our consultations and the actions relating to the feedback are also available below in PDF and Word.
