This Year’s Social Impact Projects

  • Carers Corner is fundraising to deliver a Carer Onboarding & Wellbeing Day in Parramatta — empowering unpaid family carers with a roadmap, practical tools, and a supportive community to care for their loved ones without compromising their own wellbeing.
  • FutureTech is seeking support to launch Peer Support STEAM Saturdays in Parramatta — creating inclusive spaces where neurodivergent young people can connect, create, and explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths together.
  • Women's Lantern Women’s Lantern is launching a social enterprise that empowers migrant women survivors of violence through skills training, economic opportunities, and wellbeing support — with each solar lantern sold symbolising healing, hope, and resilience.
  • FTD Circular is putting local reuse, repair, donation and sustainability solutions on the map - by adding every qualifying, built environment circular economy business, charity and social enterprise in Parramatta, onto the public circularsupply.au directory - supporting business and community to keep valuable resources out of landfill.
  • Polylop Games is hosting the CONVERGE Games Carnival—a Parramatta-based event featuring curated multiplayer games that foster connection and build a lasting local community of social gamers and newcomers alike.
  • Success Works Partners is raising funds to purchase a test and tag machine to launch a social enterprise that will create part-time employment for four women impacted by the justice system.

How It Works

  • Interactive Pitching: Six local organisations present their social impact initiatives in a live format inspired by Shark Tank, but with a strong community focus.
  • Audience Voting: Attendees receive three $10 tokens (included with the $30 ticket price) to support their favourite projects on the night.
  • Matched Funding: The City of Parramatta and Gateway Bank will together double every dollar allocated via tokens, turning your $30 into $60 of impact for the projects you support.
  • 100% to Projects: All ticket revenue goes directly to the participating social enterprises, plus matched funding from Council and Gateway Bank to maximise community impact.
  • Crowdfunding Campaigns: You are encouraged to further support your favourite projects from the night and share their crowdfunding campaign on StartSomeGood, to encourage further community donations in the weeks following the event helping the projects get funded.
