City of Parramatta has proudly received two prestigious accolades at the Local Government NSW Awards, recognising excellence in both planning and cultural innovation.
LGNSW Planning Award For: Parramatta 2050 Global Vision Details: This visionary document outlines the strategic directions and initiatives that will shape Parramatta into a global powerhouse. Adopted in 2024, it sets a bold path for the city’s future as a vibrant place to live, work and play.
LGNSW Arts and Culture Project Award For: ‘Ebb and Flow’ Public Artwork Details: Created by Australian artist Craig Walsh, this digital projection transforms the rock escarpment at the Parramatta Ferry terminal into a large-scale, evolving installation. Completed in late 2024, the artwork celebrates Parramatta’s rich heritage and history through immersive visual storytelling.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter praised the achievements, stating:
“I am very proud to be leading a Council with a clear vision and ambitions to be a global city. This wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of our staff.”
He added:
“Parramatta has transformed immensely over the last decade, and our bold Parramatta 2050 vision has put us on a path to become an even better place to live, work and play. As part of that vision, Parramatta is fast becoming the epicentre of culture and creativity.”
