Work experience and internships

City of Parramatta Council is committed to assisting students to complete their studies with 2 programs on offer called "Work Experience" and "Internships". Applications for City of Parramatta’s work experience program are accepted from Australian high school students currently completing Year 10, 11 or 12, while to be eligible for an Internships you will need to meet the application criteria.

Interships

To be eligible for an internship/work placement with City of Parramatta you must meet the following requirements:

  • be a current undergraduate, post-graduate university or other tertiary college student with a work placement requirement as part of your course requirements
  • have acceptable academic results
  • have completed the Occupational Health and Safety component of your course.

How to apply

Vacancies for Work Experience and Internships will be advertised under Positions Vacant. To submit an application you will need to:

  • register on City of Parramatta's recruitment website - only online applications will be accepted
  • address the selection criteria with a written response for each of the criteria listed within the application process

You should try to make your responses clear, concise and use relevant examples to support the specific criteria requirements.

In support of our local community, preference will be given to students who live, or attend school, within the Parramatta Local Government Area.

We will communicate with you whether your application is successful or not - if you are shortlisted you will be contacted by the convenor of the position, and if not shortlisted you will receive a notification from City of Parramatta informing you of an outcome.
