Medal Making Workshop (Ages 10-14)

This Winter school holidays head to Parramatta Artists Studios in Granville for artist-led creative activity. Studio Artist Abdullah M I Syed will guide young people aged 10- 14 through a fun and interactive exercise using paper, banknotes and coins.

Abdullah will lead participants through a series of tasks that identify the importance of art and managing valuables. They'll discuss what they value and how medals are achieved then create their own star-shaped badge or medal to keep or gift to someone else. Participants will learn about current and future currencies and pick up folding techniques they can repeat at home

All materials and tools are provided, including real and imitation banknotes. No glue will be used, as the participants will learn how to make long lasting craft items using sustainable folding, drawing and stapling skills.
