City of Parramatta Council aims to protect and enhance the natural and built environment of the Parramatta Local Government Area (LGA) by managing development using Local and State Government legislation, and Council’s own strategies and policies. There are different levels of legislation and plans that guide Council in making decisions in regards to development.

Local Environment Plan

The Parramatta Local Environment Plan 2011 provides the framework for planning in the City.  You can view the complete Parramatta Local Environmental Plan 2011 and the maps adopted by the plan on the NSW legislation website or on My Development

The planning information reflects the planning controls and boundaries of the former Parramatta City Council. It does not accurately reflect planning controls relating to the new boundaries of the City of Parramatta that was Proclaimed by the State Government on 12 May 2016. In addition, this information may not completely reflect recent changes to Parramatta Local Environmental Plan 2011 or Development Control Plan 2011.
