Leisure Play: Tang Yuan Workshop with Emma’s Kitchen

Leisure Play is a three part workshop series spanning cultural practices of cuisine, textiles and sound that centre togetherness as we begin the winter months.

Welcome the changing seasons with a crafty, cosy and chewy workshop held by the Emma’s. Huddle with us around a warm bowl of tangyuan 湯圓 / chè xôi nước — sweet soup balls in a steamy water bath, hand-made by you! Step by step in the making of this humble dessert may we learn ways to keep warm together this winter!

No previous experience needed

The following ingredients will be present during the workshop. We please ask you to read this list thoroughly and exercise caution if you have allergies or dietary requirements.

Key ingredients: Sesame, macadamia, mung bean, pistachios, peanuts, walnuts, Rice flour, water, sugar, Butter/oil, Tea, Ginger

Important information:  

Duration: 2 Hours

Location: Level 3, Makers Space

The workshop is free however registrations are essential. Best suited to people aged 18+

About Emma's Kitchen:

Atm, emoeba h♡rtbridge is a domestic artisan, unapologetic fangirl, and auntie in-training who grew up in western syd on darug land and is now living on wangal land.  through collaborative projects involving processes of filmmaking, performance, installations, and workshops, they tell stories of labour, lore, healing, and resilience that they hope can be passed on to those who may need them.

Emma Cao is an arts worker living on the traditional lands of the Cadigal, Wangal and Bediagal clans of the Dharug nation. They are amused and inspired by ritualistic practices found in nature and our everyday routine as constructive tools and forms of healing. Passionate about collective and collaborative living, they are committed to using their experiences and creative work involving programs, drawing, and writing to foster meaningful engagement and connection within and between community members
